Venchury

Efficient Gas and Liquid Contact Equipment for Process Applications :

Venchury units, commonly referred to as Venchury, are used in process systems to increase fluid velocity, create pressure drop, and improve gas–liquid interaction. They are widely applied in scrubbers, air pollution control systems, and chemical processing units where efficient mixing or particle removal is required.

When manufactured using thermoplastic and composite materials, venchury units offer excellent resistance to corrosion, scaling, and chemical attack, making them suitable for continuous operation in aggressive industrial environments.

Material Options & Operating Temperature Ranges :

Venchury units are fabricated using materials selected based on process media, operating temperature, and structural requirements.

  • PP (Polypropylene Copolymer) : Used for general-purpose venturi applications handling mildly corrosive fluids and gases. Suitable for ambient to moderate temperatures up to 80–90°C.

  • PPH (Polypropylene Homopolymer) : Offers higher rigidity and improved chemical resistance. Commonly used in chemical venchury systems operating up to 90–100°C.

  • PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) : Selected for highly corrosive and aggressive chemical environments. Provides stable performance up to 120–150°C, depending on design.

  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) : Used for low-pressure and moisture-rich applications. Suitable for ambient temperature operation up to 60–70°C.

  • PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) : Applied in low-temperature chemical and ventilation systems. Performs reliably up to 60°C.

  • FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) : Provides additional structural strength and corrosion resistance. Suitable for ambient to moderate temperatures, depending on resin system.

  • PP–FRP Lined Construction : Combines chemical resistance of polypropylene with the structural rigidity of FRP. Used for medium to large venturi units at moderate operating temperatures.

  • HDPE–FRP Lined Construction : Provides abrasion resistance with added stiffness. Suitable for ambient temperature venchury applications.

  • MS–FRP Lined Construction : Used where high mechanical strength is required. Mild steel provides structural support, while FRP lining protects against corrosion in ambient service conditions.
