Non Metallic Header

Corrosion-Resistant Flow Distribution Systems for Chemical Applications :

Non-metallic headers, also known as thermoplastic manifolds, are used to collect, distribute, or balance fluid flow in chemical and process piping systems. Unlike metal headers, non-metallic manifolds offer excellent resistance to corrosion, scaling, and chemical attack, making them suitable for aggressive process environments.

These headers are widely used in chemical plants, water treatment systems, scrubbers, and utility networks where multiple inlet or outlet connections are required with reliable, leak-free performance.

Material Options & Operating Temperature Ranges :

Non-metallic headers and manifolds are fabricated using thermoplastic and composite materials selected based on chemical compatibility, pressure, and operating temperature.

  • PP (Polypropylene Copolymer) : Used for general chemical distribution and utility services. Suitable for ambient to moderate temperatures up to 80–90°C, with good impact resistance.

  • PPH (Polypropylene Homopolymer) : Offers higher rigidity and improved chemical resistance. Commonly used in chemical process headers operating up to 90–100°C.

  • PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) : Preferred for highly corrosive fluids and aggressive chemicals. Provides excellent chemical resistance with stable performance up to 120–150°C, depending on design.

  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) : Used for low-pressure distribution systems and moisture-prone environments. Suitable for ambient temperature applications up to 60–70°C.

  • PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) : Applied in low-temperature chemical and utility systems. Performs reliably up to 60°C.

  • FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) : Selected where higher structural strength is required. Suitable for ambient to moderate temperatures, depending on resin system.

  • PP–FRP Lined Construction : Combines polypropylene’s chemical resistance with FRP’s structural strength. Used for large manifolds handling corrosive fluids at moderate temperatures.

  • HDPE–FRP Lined Construction : Provides abrasion resistance with added rigidity. Suitable for ambient temperature chemical distribution systems.

  • MS–FRP Lined Construction : Used where mechanical strength is critical. Mild steel provides rigidity, while FRP lining protects against corrosion in ambient temperature service.
