Spiral Tanks

Corrosion-Resistant Storage and Process Tanks for Industrial Applications :

Spiral tanks are cylindrical tanks manufactured using a spiral winding process, which allows the fabrication of large-diameter, seamless tanks with uniform wall thickness. These tanks are widely used for storing and handling corrosive chemicals, process liquids, and industrial effluents.

When produced using thermoplastic and composite materials, spiral tanks offer excellent chemical resistance, structural stability, and long service life, making them suitable for continuous operation in aggressive industrial environments.

Material Options & Operating Temperature Ranges :

Spiral tanks are fabricated using materials selected based on stored media, operating temperature, tank size, and installation conditions.

  • PP (Polypropylene Copolymer) : Used for general chemical and utility storage. Suitable for ambient to moderate temperatures up to 80–90°C.

  • PPH (Polypropylene Homopolymer) : Offers higher rigidity and improved chemical resistance. Commonly used for chemical storage and process tanks operating up to 90–100°C.

  • PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) : Preferred for highly corrosive and aggressive chemicals. Provides excellent chemical resistance with stable performance up to 120–150°C, depending on design.

  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) : Widely used for water, effluent, and bulk chemical storage. Suitable for ambient temperature operation up to 60–70°C, with good impact resistance.

  • PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) : Used for low-temperature chemical storage and utility tanks. Performs reliably up to 60°C.

  • FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) : Provides structural strength and corrosion resistance. Suitable for ambient to moderate temperatures, depending on resin system.

  • PP–FRP Lined Construction : Combines polypropylene’s chemical resistance with FRP’s structural support. Used for large spiral tanks handling corrosive chemicals at moderate temperatures.

  • HDPE–FRP Lined Construction : Offers abrasion resistance with enhanced stiffness. Suitable for ambient temperature chemical storage.

  • MS–FRP Lined Construction : Used where high structural strength is required. Mild steel provides rigidity, while FRP lining protects against corrosion in ambient service conditions.
